Case Studies Wiki:About
From Case Studies Wiki
About
Welcome to the Case Studies Wiki of the University of Sheffield. The Wiki began in October 2007 as a way for staff and students to begin share and discuss good practice in learning and teaching in the University.
History
In a conversation with the Case Studies Project Officer, Nadine Wills, Pure Science DLTD Alistair Warren mentioned that wikis were being used very successfully for teaching in the University in Departments such as Dentistry (Chris Stokes), Law (Natasha Semmens) and in Music (The Composition Collaboratory). Academic Director of CILASS, Phil Levy was also a strong initial supporter of the idea.
Format
After consultations with numerous academics and professionals throughout the university, the Wiki format was finally because of three main reasons. First, this format is easy to co-edit between people in separate locations. Second, it is easily searchable/is a kind of database and each page has its own discussion board. Finally, it allows the format to develop and be adjusted for the needs of each different Case Study.
